NOTICE OF RACE

1.      EVENT SCHEDULE

2.     VENUE

Pine Rivers Radio Yacht Club

Lake Kurwongbah, 328 Dayboro Road, Kurwongbah (UBD Map 88 A17).

3.    ORGANISING AUTHORITY

The Regatta is organised under the overall authority of the Queensland Radio Yacht Association (Inc) and hosted by the Pine Rivers Radio Yacht Club Inc.

4.    RULES

The Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2005-2008, Appendix E; this Notice of Race (NoR); the Sailing Instructions (SI),

5.      ELIGIBILITY

       Laser

The competition is open to financial members of ARYA (Inc) affiliated clubs and to members of a recognized Division Member of the International Sailing Federation-Radio Sailing Division.  All yachts must have a current registration certificate.

6.    REGISTRATION

Boats, together with their current registration certificate, must be presented for registration and check-measurement prior to racing on the day of competition.  No boat will be eligible to race until it has completed this process.

 

7.    EVENT CATEGORY AND ADVERTISING

The Championships are classified under RRS Appendix 1, ISAF Advertising Code,  Regulation 20, as Category C.  The Organisers reserve the right to advertising according to Regulation 20.3

8.    SCORING AND RACING SYSTEM

The following will apply:

1.  Where there are 16 or less entries – Single fleet racing scored in accordance with the RRS Appendix A4.1 (Low Point System).

2.     Where there are 17 or more entries – The  Heat Management System (HMS 2002) .

Ties will be resolved in accordance with the RRS A8.1, A8.2 and A8.3

9.    SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

       Sailing Instructions will be available at the Race Centre the day of competition.

       Copies may be provided on the day

 

10.   ENTRIES

Entries close on Friday 22nd August 2008.  Late entries may be accepted prior to the start of competition at the discretion of the Race Officer. Frequencies will be allocated in order of receipt of entry forms.

The entry fee is $20.00

Entries should be on the official entry form, either by online registration or should be forwarded to the PRRYC Race Secretary or paid on registration on the first day of the Championship.

Cheques should be made payable to the Pine Rivers Radio Yacht Club Inc. and marked “Not Negotiable”. Or bank deposit:

11.   MEASUREMENT

The Race Committee may direct that all boats entered in the event be check-measured or alternatively randomly select a number of boats for check measurement.

The Race Committee may, at any time during the event, check that a boat remains within class rules.

12.   PROTESTS

       A committee will be appointed to hear any protests arising during the event and may comprise of competitors not involved in the incident.

RRS 61.2 and 62.2 may be replaced by a verbal notification and hearing if all parties affected by the incident agree.

The ISAF-RSD System for the Reduction of Protest Hearings (SYRPH) (Jan 1999) will apply to the Championships.

13.   FREQUENCIES

Competitors must list a minimum of three frequencies on their entry form: details of any additional frequencies available would be appreciated to assist in frequency allocation.

14.   LIABILITY

All those entering or taking part in this Regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility. The Queensland Radio Yacht Association (Inc), the Pine Rivers Radio Yacht Club (Inc) and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water, as a consequence of entering or participating in the Regatta covered by this Notice of Race.

At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves, plus the decision to participate or continue, must rest with the competitors.

By entering the event it is deemed that these conditions are accepted
