10R GP2 Mazda Trophy

July 7 saw the running of the Mazda Trophy on the up coming nationals course at Grahamstown Dam, only eight of the entered twelve managed to front the start line which is a shame as the rain held off all day except for a 5 minute bit of sleet.

Racing started under the control of PRO Mark Wilson into a light breeze from the west  with Ben Taylor getting 3 bullets from the first 3 starts, racing continued on in a light breeze with some slop thrown in which made it hard going at times.

The breeze did fade around lunch time so lunch was called only to switch to the ESE after lunch.

Very good to see Barry Jutt sailing his Sanga up on the podium for a well deserved 3rd place on the day. Thanks must go to Rob Gower, and Jeff Harris from the Horizons club (boat and scoring,)Mark Wilson PRO  along with Col Andrews for the photos.

Thanks also to Tom Collinge for travelling up from Bankstown, to keep this sport and class going 10r owners need to support regatta days and attend these events, next 10r regatta is on at Kogarah Bay soon entry is up on the nsw website!!
