DAC Results, Scratch Racing, Thu 17th July 2025

Ah, the weather!
Last week we recorded 38 Knots/ 70Km/Hr on our pontoon, consensus was to give it away.
Today our wind was a WNW at 2 to 13 Km/Hr., (1 to 7 Knots) with a hazy sun and 18oC on a full tide.
A sails were the choice by all.
The wind direction was constant but quite a few lulls made it a long day. We managed 6 races in our chosen time.
Phil Stevenson comfortably won the day’s event with 9 points. Noel McPherson and Peter Burton were the only challengers to complete the podium with 15 and 17 points respectively. The remaining boats were few points apart with Martin Thearle leading to take 4th place. Stephen Deane had a very consistent day with all his finishes around 6th. Stephen came fifth overall. There was a three way countback following with Graham Brown leading Rob Lowndes and Brian Chapman, Judy Evans a half point behind them.
There were quite a few drifting patches for the later races where most boat speed was due to the receding tide.
All in, it was a pleasant and gentle day’s sailing with the normally good and clever banter
Race winners were Phil Stevenson 1, Noel McPherson 1, Peter Burton 2, Martin Thearle 1 and Judy Evans 1.
Phil Stevenson took the honours for the day to win 1st place on 9 points.
Noel McPherson finished in 2nd place on 15 points.
Peter Burton finished in 3rd place with 17 points.
The Club Championship now has Graham Brown in front from Phil Stevenson and Noel McPherson.
Our next Sail day is Thursday 24th July for a Scratch Event.
