16 sailors turned up for a supposedly rainy day, but it was bright sunshine until the latter part of the day, when it became a little threatening.  It was jackets off on the suntrap of the deck.

We had a south westerly breeze running – fairly constantly around 9 knots, but with the gusts up to 21 knots, it made for a lively day.  We had the pressure of the high gusts, and the lulls between them to deal with.  Fortunately the water was flat and that provided some exciting downwind runs.

It made for an interesting sail choice.  We had a mix of C and D sails on the water, with each having success.

The course was laid diagonally on the western side of the deck, so we had to deal with the glare from the sun at different stages during the day.  We were sailing silhouettes sometimes at the bottom mark.

Well, Graham Brown, Phil Stevenson and  Martin Thearle cleaned up on the day.  Graham had 4 wins; Martin and Phil had 3 each.

Graham won the day with 12 points; Phil came second with 15, and Martin third with 17.

There was daylight between them and the rest of the fleet.  There were groupings of close points through the fleet, with countbacks involved in a number of them to separate the boats.  It just shows that every point counts in the results.
