DAC Results, Scratch Racing, Thu 27th November 2025

Eighteen DAC Sailors fronted for our Scratch Racing day yesterday.
The conditions were blustery with a Westerly ranging from the 20’s gusting to 50 Km/Hr., (11 up to 27 Knots)
The temperature stayed around 31oC and we sailed on a light chop.
There was little choice for sails so D it was.
With the such conditions, there were only 4 DNF’s and maybe 2 or 3 rescues. There was plenty of time for racing.
Thanks to the appointed Race Officers.
Phil Stevenson honed his skills well for the State Titles this coming Sunday. All Phil’s scoring races were either wins or places. He won the day with a score of 14.5 points. Graham Brown was the main contender for the day’s honours scoring 18.5 points. Graham had a win, four seconds and a tie for second place. He scored 18.5 points. Robin Tickner started well. He had a disaster in race 2 but put that aside to finish with 2 wins and 2 places to come home third. Noel McPherson led the field from there. A win in race 8 moved him up to fourth position with 31 points. The following scores were occasionally close with Peter Burton, Martin Thearle, Rob Lowndes, Judy Evans, Stephen Deane and Brian Chapman each scoring a place or two. Peter Hirschl, our newer sailor sailed well to take a fifth in race 6.
Race winners were Phil Stevenson 2, Graham Brown 1, Robin Tickner 2, Noel McPherson 1, Peter Burton 2 and Stephen Deane 1.
