DAC Results, Scratch Racing, Thu 23rd November 2023

Dobroyd-RC-Lasers-20231123

Our forecast and actual weather yesterday were repeats of the last few sailing days.

Seventeen DAC Sailors endured threatening skies, a Southerly wind (this time) and again we remained dry until the last race.

The wind was quite variable in strength, ranging from 9 up to the low 20’s Km/Hr, (5 to 13 Knots).

“C” sails all round, were the choice.

Phil Stevenson was the day’s Champion. Two firsts and six places gave Phil a winning score of 15 points. A great example of how high consistency wins the day. Always there in contention, Graham Brown notched up 4 wins and 2 places to be edged into second place. Graham scored 16 points. Noel McPherson with three firsts and three places completed the top three with a score of 21 points. Robin Tickner and Brendan Hones (a win), were next in line with six places between them. There was a sizable gap to the remaining boats where the following scores were a little closer together. There were only 2 places left with those going to Peter Close and Terry Hey.

Race winners were Phil Stevenson 2, Graham Brown 4, Noel McPherson 3 and Brendan Hones 1.

Phil Stevenson took the honours for the day to win 1st place on 15 points.

Graham Brown finished in 2nd place on 16 points.

Noel McPherson finished in 3rd place with 21 points.

The Club Championship now has Graham Brown in front from Noel McPherson and Phil Stevenson.

Our next Sail day is Thursday 30th November for a Scratch Event.
